I'M DR. TERAH.
WHERE I COME FROM
I was born in Concordia, KS and grew up the daughter of a Teamster and a Teacher. I enjoy being part of a large family and enjoy the perspectives each contributes! I have siblings in many different walks of life including farming, teaching, and even crop insurance! I lived in Kansas until my Surgery training took me to Oregon where I enjoyed the mountains, bike trails and climate for 5 years. I then had the honor of coming to Houston for top-notch fellowship training in Colon & Rectal Surgery. This is where I met my husband and have had the joy of starting our family. I have lived in the Near Northside neighborhood for 7 years!
WHERE WE ARE GOING
I interact with patients everyday and to heal their problems, I must listen closely and respond directly, diagnosing before treating. After living in Texas House District 148 for over seven years, I know the next representative from 148 needs to be a strong advocate. A strong advocate for every member of the district that will do what she does every day at work - listen to resident’s problems and respond directly.
I understand how the issues facing our communities face us all together. We all feel the fear of the next flood. We all want to see blight reduction and economic development. And we all want our children’s future to be brighter and better than our past.
I will fight for the issues that matter most to our district. I am ready to take up the fight against wasteful and disruptive public boondoggles like the I-45 freeway move. I am ready to help Texans get and keep access to quality medical care. I am ready to fight the opioid epidemic by any means available. I am ready to promote mental health in our schools, our workplaces and amongst our homeless population. I have worked every day of my career serving Houstonians and the residents of House District 148, and I she want to serve you in the Texas House of Representatives.
